August 2025 Update

1 August 2025

Work is now complete on the Turners Beach portion of the Shared Coastal Pathway. Meaning that residents can now walk, run or ride from Ulverstone all the way to Devonport.

This new 1.7km section links Leith to Lethborg Avenue via Lukin, Susan and Henry Streets, and the Esplanade. It includes five new pedestrian (Wombat) crossings for safer all-access use, plus upgrades to drainage, driveways and signage to support residents, pedestrians and drivers.

This portion of the project has been ongoing since May 2024 and a huge project for our teams. Thanks to the Turners Beach community for their patience during these works, and we hope you enjoy this beautiful coastal walk.

This $1.2m project was funded through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. The LRCI Program supports local councils with funding for road and community infrastructure projects. This project, a section of the larger coastal pathway, is part of the council’s commitment to improving local infrastructure.
