Leven Canyon track works update

Leven Canyon track works

Safety works are getting underway at Leven Canyon to repair the steps between the upper and lower walking tracks.

To prepare for the project, the Leven Canyon car park and reserve will be closed on Friday 29 May while a helicopter delivers materials to site. This work has been scheduled ahead of wedge-tailed eagle breeding season.

The area will reopen after this, with track works expected to begin in early June and take around 8 weeks.

During the works:

  • the steps connecting the upper and lower tracks will be closed
  • the full loop walk will not be available
  • visitors will still be able to access Cruickshanks Lookout and Edge Lookout
  • signs will be in place to help guide visitors.

These works will help reduce trip hazards and keep this popular walking experience safe for visitors.

An Aboriginal heritage assessment has been undertaken for this project.

We thank visitors and the community for their patience while this important safety and renewal work is planned and delivered.
