Precinct 9: Dial Range Corridor

dial range corridor

The Dial Range Corridor includes West Pine, Riana and South Riana.

The area is shaped by its bushland setting and natural landscape, with open spaces supporting family recreation, nature-based activities and conservation.

Much of the precinct’s open space is made up of large natural reserve areas within the Dial Range. For day-to-day community use, local recreation needs are mainly supported by existing spaces in Riana.

What is proposed

Council is proposing to:

  • Replace ageing park furniture, including seats and tables, across the precinct
  • Continue working with the Riana Pioneer Tourist Association to maintain and improve Pioneer Park
South Riana Recreation Ground

The former South Riana Recreation Ground is still owned by Council, but it is currently vacant and is no longer used for recreation.

Because the area is already served by Riana Primary School, Pioneer Park and Riana Recreation Ground, the plan identifies the South Riana site as surplus open space.

This means the plan does not support further investment in that site as an active recreation space.
